English: „Gules, clothed Argent St. John Baptist, sitting on a settle (chest) Argent; in his hands a bezant charged with a lamb Argent (Agnus Dei).”

Historia obiektu
Deutsch: Kaiser Ludwig der Baier verlieh dem Ort 1335 Stadtrechte. Aus dem Jahr 1359 ist ein Siegelabdruck überliefert mit der Umschrift S CIVITATIS IN SESLA ILLORVM CIVIVM und dem Bild des sitzenden Ortspatrons Johannes mit dem Bild eines Lamms auf einer Scheibe, die er in Händen hält. Am 16.10.1959 erfolgte die ministerielle Zustimmung zur Übernahme des ältesten Siegelbildes als Stadtwappen. Die Farben Silber und Rot erinnern an die Landeshoheit des Hochstifts Würzburg bis 1803, das in Seßlach einen Amtssitz unterhielt.
English: Sesslach received city rights in 1335, but the city already had a seal around 1280. The seal already showed the image of the patron saint St. John Baptist, holding a plate with the Paschal Lamb (Agnus Dei). The composition of the seal was placed in a shield and granted as arms on October 16, 1959. As no colours were known the silver and red of the State of Würzburg were chosen, as the town historically belonged to Würzburg (until 1803).
