Historia obiektu

Deutsch: Nach der Eingliederung der Gemeinden Rheinkamp und Kapellen in die Stadt Moers führt die Stadt das alte Wappen weiter, welches auf ein mittelalterliches Siegel zurückgeht; es wird seit etwa dem Jahre 1600 geführt. Neben dem Turm als Symbol für die befestigte Stadt (Stadtrechte im Jahre1300) steht das Wappen der Grafen von Moers.

English: Moers received city rights in 1300 by King Albrecht I. The city developed around the castle of the counts of Moers. The arms are based on a seal of the city from the middle ages. The tower is a symbol for afortified city, the black bar in gold is the arms of the counts of Moers. Until the 17th century the arms of the counts are placed in front of the castle. In the 17th century the present arms first appear. The arms have been used for some centuries, but were not officially granted until 1975.
